About Emma Kepple

Originally from central Illinois, I've recently made my home in St. Louis, Missouri. In the past, I've worked as an EMT-B and emergency room patient care technician. After moving to St Louis, I became a paraeducator at an alternative junior high school. Most recently I have been working as an Application Software Developer building Micro Frontend applications in Angular and GO. I have a degree in psychology from the University of Illinois.

I took an online web development class through a company called Skillcrush as a fun way to learn something new.  Through that class, I developed an interest in web development and design. I was enjoying teaching but knew it wasn't what I wanted as far as a career goes and was looking into freelance web development as a possible career change.

Through my teacher at Skillcrush, I learned about CoderGirl and LaunchCode. After researching the different project tracks, I felt that UX sounded right up my alley, and signed up to join the summer cohort. Blink and here I am now, trying to launch a career in UX design and hoping to learn more and improve every day.
